Idaho Education Needs Vision and Leadership - Sherri Ybarra Is That Leader
Idaho needs a Superintendent of Public Instruction with a vision for the future to make positive changes in education. Sherri Ybarra is that leader. With nearly 20 years of experience in all phases of education --- such as classroom teacher, Vice Principal, Principal, Federal Programs Director and Curriculum Director, Sherri is keenly aware of the challenges facing educating our youth. Idaho needs a leader who is in the trenches and not removed from the actual education of our children.
She will listen and work with all stakeholders to give Idaho students the skills they must have to compete in the 21st century.
Proven Leadership – Sherri Stands Up For Students
Sherri has a deep commitment and passion for education. She is the kind of leader who is an advocate for students.
An example of her hands-on leadership includes taking a failing school in Idaho with a challenging population of high poverty students and English-Language Learners to a four-star status in one year.
Sherri is helping schools find the resources they need to give their students the best education possible. As a principal, she obtained a “Fuel Up to Play 60” grant that improved technology and increased healthy physical activity. She is currently working on a STEM project and utilizing grant writing as a creative and innovative way to fund more programs.
Sherri is the leader who will improve the educational lives of our students and move Idaho forward to seeing a return on our investment.
