After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education, Sherri moved to Idaho in 1996 with the military, and loved the people so much, she decided to raise a family here, and call Idaho home, where she has lived with her family for nearly 20 years.
She started teaching at West Elementary school, in Mountain Home, where she was selected as Teacher of the Year, twice. She chose to further her education in Idaho, at the University of Idaho with degrees that include: a Master's in Educational Leadership and an Education Specialist Degree, with an emphasis in the Superintendency, and she is currently working on her Doctorate. Then, she became a Vice Principal and Principal, where she and her team of teachers and parents turned a failing school into 'four-star" status. She was then promoted to Federal Programs/Curriculum Director of Mountain Home School District's nearly 4,000 students and 7 schools. It was then, she decided she wanted to give back to the great people of Idaho, through serving education as the next Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Sherri lives in Mountain Home with her husband of 15 years, and a son. Sherri makes family time a priority, with such activities as bowling, swimming, and baseball. Sherri loves Idaho, and would consider it an honor to serve the parents, teachers, students, and all stakeholders involved as the next State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
